Here is a little loom you can easily take anywhere with you. The 18” weaving width is ideal for workshops and for all those other narrow projects.
We’ve used the same sturdy X-frame, bolt and barrel-nut construction for our Schacht Wolf Pup as we use for our other Schacht Wolf Looms. We also use many of the same components: steel hub friction brake, brake release foot pedal, aluminum harness channels, and an attached beater pin. The loom comes with stainless steel heddle bars and a stainless steel reed (choice of 6, 8, 10, 12 or 15 dent), and 300 flat steel heddles (inserted-eye wire heddles also available). The simple and elegant direct tie-up system we use was first designed by F.C. Wood of Waterford, New York, who started building the Dorset Loom in 1956. In the process of developing this product, we also came up with a nifty enhancement: the Treadle Tracker, a “mini clipboard” for holding your threading and treadling diagrams.
The Schacht Wolf Pup folds up to a depth of only 16 inches. The attached wheels automatically engage when the loom is in the folded position.
Schacht Baby Wolf Floor Loom

Our Schacht Baby Wolf loom is the most uncompromised small loom available today. It has all the advantages of portability while maintaining the best big loom features. If compactness and portability are what you are looking for, you’ll be interested in this thoughtfully engineered loom.
The weaving width of the Baby Wolf is 26″. You have your choice of four or eight shafts, or you can choose our Four Now-Four Later* model which allows you to expand from four shafts to eight shafts at any time. The X-frame design is exceptionally stable and can be easily folded to a depth of 18″. The adjustable beater allows the position of the shuttle race to be raised or lowered if necessary. The Baby Wolf employs a friction brake on the warp beam which lets you advance the warp smoothly.
Table Loom
Schacht Cricket Loom

The Schacht Cricket Loom is compact, capable and cute! At only 11″ x 18″ x 6″ and just under four pounds, it’s easy to take along. The ten inch weaving width gives plenty of room to make a variety of projects without sacrificing portability. The Cricket is made of high quality maple an apple ply and hard maple and left unfinished. As of April 2010, the Cricket has been redesigned with the ratchet gear and dog on the outside of the loom to make it even easier to adjust tension.
The Cricket comes with an 8-dent reed (sorry, no substitutions). We also have 5-, 10- and 12-dent reeds. Included are a threading hook, warping peg, table clamps, two shuttles, and two balls of yarn. Our 10” pick-up stick is just the right width for the loom; additional 10” shuttles are also available.

Schacht Warping Boards are the most commonly used measuring devices. Our warping boards are available in two sizes: the 14 yard warping board is one yard across and the 4 1/2 yard warping board measures a half yard across. To withstand the strain of threads under tension, we tension our hardwood dowels and press them securely into the frame.

Our Schacht Maple Boat Shuttles are beautifully shaped and well balanced. They are sanded smooth and then given a hand-rubbed Danish oil finish. Four sizes are available: 9″, 11″, 13″, and 15″. Our smallest boat shuttle, the 9″ mini, is styled after a Japanese silk shuttle. This duck-nosed shuttle is wonderful for narrow widths and fine yarns. Our most popular boat shuttle, the 11″ boat shuttle, is offered in slim and regular models with closed-bottom and open-bottom styles.
Our two largest boat shuttles are 13″ and 15″ long, and can handle fine to medium weight yarns. Because of their extra length and yarn capacity, weavers often choose these shuttles for wider weaving widths.
